Berlin Wall

  1. the anti-immigrants wall; 20 years after Berlin, the other walls of shame remain. A few days ago, we were celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. This wall had separated West Berlin and East Berlin. However, the united States have decided to build a wall in order to limit the number of immigrants from Mexico. Are these walls there to protect or to separate? Like Seck I believe this “tortilla border” is not a solution. Not to mention that this wall will harm the bilateral relations between the United States and Mexico.
I believe that we must keep in mind that they run away from their countries for a good reason, poverty and violence for example “it is inevitable to say the main reason why Mexicans tend to run away to a more developed country is due to economic crisis, violence and the low rates of jobs” (seck 3rd)

  2. Therefore, developed countries should work in partnership with developing countries to solve the problem by organizing meetings; for instance they should invest in these developing countries to help develop new forms of jobs and/or create more training programs for people with no or low qualifications. If we continue identifying immigration as a problem rather than as a potential resource we will never find a solution
